CELEBRITY INFORMATION: MARILYN MONROE - BORN NORMA JEANE MORTENSON - June 1, 1926 - August 5, 1962 was an American actress and model. Famous for playing comedic characters, she became one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950s and was representative of the era's attitudes towards sexuality. Marilyn continues to be considered a major pop culture idol and is ranked #1 as the world's most famous celebrity icon. MOVIE INFORMATION: Something's Got to Give is an unfinished 1962 American feature film, directed by George Cukor for Twentieth Century-Fox starring Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin and Cyd Charisse. A remake of My Favorite Wife 1940, a comedy starring Cary Grant and Irene Dunne.

Something's Got To give was Monroe's last work. After her death on August 5, 1962 the film was abandoned.

Most of its completed footage remained unseen for many years. Twentieth Century-Fox revamped the entire production the following year with a mostly new cast and crew and produced their My Favorite Wife remake, now titled Move Over, Darling starring Doris Day, James Garner, and Polly Bergen. PHOTOGRAPH PROVENANCE: This is the actual vintage photograph produced by the movie studio to promote the film & it's movie star(s) at the time of the movie's release. During the Golden Age of Hollywood, some of the most talented photographers in the world worked for the Hollywood movie studios. The movie photographs from the time period represented by the photo are basically works of art.

Because they were printed in limited quantities, fewer than 10 may exist today. Their investment value continues to increase as these vintage photos are taken off the marketplace by movie photograph collectors. Sometimes these vintage Golden Age photographs are never seen again.
